Manya Wilkinson is geboren in New York en is van Joodse afkomst. Inmiddels is ze ruim twintig jaar woonachtig in het noorden van Engeland waar ze prozaworkshops geeft aan het Newcastle Centre for the Literary Arts. Haar debuutroman Ocean Avenue verscheen onder de schrijversnaam Margaret Wilkinson. In april 2024 verschijnt haar nieuwe roman Lublin waarover je hier alles kunt lezen. Geen van haar boeken zijn tot nu toe in Nederlandse vertaling verschenen.
